  •  The Tarka Trail for walking or cycling enthusiasts is a minute away.

Try the Tarka Cycle Trail,  Bideford to Great Torrington route which is 6 miles/10km.  This section is entirely traffice free and takes you up the Torridge estuary. 

Alternatively try Bideford to Barnstaple which is 9 miles /14km and again is entirely traffic free. This route has sculptures and a superb view across the mouth of the Taw.

  •   Local beaches are great for surfing, kite buggying, sand boarding or even just relaxing.

Westward Ho! beach just approx 3.2 miles away  offers over two miles of golden sand backed by a unique pebble ridge linking to Northam Burrows Country ParkInstow Beach approx 3.3 miles away

Bude Crooklets Beach approx 28 miles away is ideal for surfing, the same for Northcott Mouth, North of Bude. There are also various other beaches to visit.
